The California High-Speed Rail Authority has issued a $3.5 billion request for proposals to build track and systems for the Central Valley segment, advancing the nation’s first high-speed rail project.
The RFP covers track, power, train control, communications, and safety certification across 119 miles from Merced to Bakersfield, divided into nine phased packages.
Over 70 miles of guideway and nearly 60 major structures are already completed or underway, with a railhead facility in Kern County now operational to support logistics.
