flag Volunteers made 25 Christmas stockings from old Sandringham curtains, auctioning 24 for charity and giving one to the King.

Members of the King’s Foundation Sewing Bee at Dumfries House in Scotland have transformed old curtains from Sandringham House into 25 handcrafted Christmas stockings for a charity auction. The project, ongoing since 2016, involved community members, many with no prior sewing experience, learning skills like embroidery and piping to create each stocking, which took over six hours to complete. Twenty-four stockings are being auctioned through The King’s Foundation’s 2025 Christmas Charity Auction, running until December 12, with proceeds supporting heritage skill training and sustainability efforts. The 25th stocking will be presented to the King as a Christmas gift.
