Over 5,200 people from 132 countries are set to become Irish citizens in ceremonies across six locations, including Killarney, where around 164 from the North West region will be naturalized.
The events, part of a two-day nationwide series, mark the 216th such ceremony since 2011, bringing the total number of new citizens to about 222,000.
Applicants, including the largest group from India, will swear an oath of loyalty to Ireland.
Minister of State Colm Brophy emphasized migration’s role in Ireland’s history and encouraged new citizens to maintain ties to their home countries while contributing to Irish society.
