Mubadala Energy and Indonesia’s PLN Energi Primer Indonesia have signed a heads of agreement to supply natural gas from the Andaman Sea, focusing on developing the Tangkulo field off North Sumatra, which holds over 2 trillion cubic feet of reserves.
The deal aims to boost Indonesia’s energy security, reduce LNG dependence, and support domestic demand in North Sumatra and Aceh.
The project aligns with national goals to diversify energy sources, strengthen infrastructure, and advance the energy transition.
