Early arrivals include egrets, herons, storks, and spoonbills, supported by desilting, restored water levels, and nesting platforms installed in 2013. Painted storks are staying longer due to sustained conditions. The sites highlight how conservation efforts by communities and institutions are creating vital urban sanctuaries amid urbanization, with the migratory season running from November to March.
