Luzerne County is selling two properties to generate about $2.5 million, including the 44,480-square-foot Broad Street Business Exchange in Hazleton, appraised at $2.1 million and currently home to Luzerne County Community College and other tenants, and a three-story building at 54 W. Union St. in Wilkes-Barre, valued at $373,000.
The Hazleton building, acquired in 2009 after a nonprofit defaulted on $1.8 million in loans, is being sold via bidding with a pre-bid walkthrough on December 8 and sealed bids due December 19.
The Wilkes-Barre building, vacated in February, is being marketed through a competitive RFP process for a broker, with proposals due December 15.
The county is also posting council meeting Zoom recordings online at no extra cost and continues engineering reviews for the Nanticoke/West Nanticoke Bridge replacement, funded in part by $10 million in federal grants and a $55 million casino infrastructure fund.
