Grande Portage's gold project in Alaska attracts global smelters due to high silica content aiding gold recovery, despite low copper.
Grande Portage Resources has confirmed through an independent study that its New Amalga Gold Project in Southeast Alaska has strong offsite processing potential, with gold-bearing material highly attractive to international copper smelters outside China due to its high silica content, which can serve as a flux additive.
Despite low copper content, the material allows for high gold recovery in existing smelting circuits, drawing interest from multiple global processors amid tight copper concentrate supplies.
The project, located near Juneau with good infrastructure access, holds 1.44 million ounces in indicated and 516,000 ounces in inferred gold resources.
A Preliminary Economic Assessment is expected in Q1 2026.
El proyecto de oro de Grande Portage en Alaska atrae a fundiciones globales debido al alto contenido de sílice que ayuda a la recuperación de oro, a pesar de la baja concentración de cobre.
