A Bangladeshi court will rule on corruption charges against former PM Sheikh Hasina and others over land deals in the Purbachal project.

A Dhaka court will deliver its verdict tomorrow in a high-profile corruption case involving former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana, niece Tulip Siddique, and 14 others over alleged irregularities in land allocation for the Purbachal New Town Project. The trial concluded on November 25 after 32 prosecution witnesses testified. The Anti-Corruption Commission asserts the evidence supports maximum penalties. Thirteen accused, including Hasina, are absconding and were tried in absentia. The case, originating from a January 2025 complaint, is among several ongoing legal proceedings involving Hasina.
