Norway’s $2T fund backs human rights report request and opposes Nadella’s pay and reappointment at Microsoft.
Norway’s $2 trillion sovereign wealth fund, Microsoft’s second-largest shareholder with a 1.35% stake, will vote in favor of a shareholder proposal calling for a report on human rights risks in countries where Microsoft operates.
The fund also plans to oppose CEO Satya Nadella’s re-appointment as board chair and reject his compensation package.
Microsoft management had urged shareholders to oppose the motion.
The vote is set for December 5, reflecting growing investor scrutiny over tech companies’ global operations and executive pay.
