A massive 100-meter-long caustic wash tower, weighing over 870,000 kilograms, will be transported from Edmonton to Fort Saskatchewan starting Sunday night, requiring a 480-wheel rig and traveling at 30 km/h.
The convoy, which will use full roadways including shoulders and involve guide vehicles, will cause temporary traffic disruptions on major routes like 51 Avenue, Whitemud Drive, and several highways.
The first leg departs at 11 p.m. on November 30, with a second movement on December 2 at 7 a.m., aiming to safely deliver the industrial equipment to the Dow Chemicals site.
