Matthew Olsen, 44, of Harrison, Maine, was arrested early Sunday morning after a high-speed chase across New Hampshire and Maine.
The pursuit began when New Hampshire State Police attempted to stop Olsen for speeding and erratic driving, but he fled, ramming a patrol vehicle.
Maine State Police took over the chase on I-95, ending it when Olsen drove over a curb at the Kennebunk Rest Area, damaged his tires, and was stopped using the precision immobility technique.
Olsen was charged with operating under the influence, eluding an officer, reckless conduct, and criminal speed.
No injuries were reported, and three animals found in the vehicle were taken to a shelter.
He was hospitalized briefly before being booked into York County Jail.
