Laos has shipped its first full train of cassava starch—1,000 tons—to China via the China-Laos Railway, departing Vientiane South Station on November 30, 2025, and expected to arrive in Zhengzhou in 80 hours.
The cargo, managed by China Railway Container Transport, marks a milestone in Lao agricultural exports.
Since the railway opened, over 16 million tons of freight, including 1.7 million tons of agricultural goods, have been transported to China.
The Laos-China Railway Co., Ltd. plans regular shipments to support Lao exporters.
Meanwhile, China received its first shipment of frozen Indonesian durians, reflecting broader trade growth with ASEAN, which remains China’s top agricultural trading partner.
