Jesse Sloss pleaded guilty to stealing a car and evading police, violating probation, and was sentenced to time served, probation, and restrictions.
Jesse Sloss, 42, of Sudbury, was sentenced in Ontario court after pleading guilty to nine charges related to stealing a woman’s car in March 2024 and leading police on a brief pursuit.
The charges included theft, dangerous driving, and breaches of release and probation orders.
Sloss, who had a prior 2019 conviction for assaulting a motel clerk and the clerk’s father, violated court-imposed restrictions to stay away from the woman and failed to report to probation.
He was also found in possession of crack cocaine and evaded a jail sentence.
In exchange for his guilty plea, 10 charges were dropped.
Justice Malcolm McLeod imposed a suspended sentence for 356 days already served, along with two-year probation, a three-year weapons ban, a DNA order, a two-year driver’s licence suspension, and mandatory counselling, including the Partner Assault Response Program.
