Jalgaon police arrested 43 people, allegedly Bangladeshi infiltrators, for forging documents to get birth certificates amid electoral roll revisions.
On November 29, 2025, former BJP MP Kirit Somaiya said Jalgaon police arrested 43 people, whom he identified as Bangladeshi Muslim infiltrators, for allegedly forging court documents to obtain birth certificates.
The case, numbered 129/2025, involves theft of court seals and forged signatures from the Executive Magistrate’s office.
The arrests coincide with the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in 12 states and Union Territories, a process criticized by opposition parties as potentially disenfranchising voters, especially in West Bengal.
The BJP formed a national coordination team to oversee the revision, while TMC MPs protested the exercise before the Chief Election Commissioner.
