India trains 18 engineers in e-toy tech to cut imports and boost exports under Make in India.
India is boosting its domestic electronic toy industry through a government-backed initiative that trained 18 young engineers, including those from underrepresented communities, in electronics and IT-based toy development.
The year-long program, led by MeitY and C-DAC with support from LEGO Group and Indian Toy Industries, included six months of lab training at C-DAC Noida’s new e-Toys Lab and six months of industry prototyping, with participants receiving a monthly stipend of Rs.

The effort aims to reduce import dependence, foster innovation, and expand entrepreneurship, with plans to grow the Center of Excellence by adding NIELIT and MSH.
India now exports electronic toys to 153 countries, part of broader Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat goals.
