Ghana's 2025 WASSCE results show sharp failure rise, misconduct penalties, and ongoing investigations.
The West African Examinations Council has released provisional 2025 WASSCE results for Ghana, showing a sharp rise in failures, especially in Core Mathematics and Social Studies, with pass rates dropping significantly.
Over 7,000 candidates faced penalties for exam misconduct, including 6,295 with subject results cancelled and 653 with full results annulled due to unauthorized materials or mobile phones.
Results from 185 schools are under investigation for alleged collusion, and 35 individuals, including 19 teachers, are involved in misconduct, with 19 convicted and 16 awaiting trial.
All withheld results are expected by December 2025.
