FBI to release sensitive documents from 2016 Trump-Russia probe found in burn bags.
FBI Director Kash Patel announced that all sensitive documents discovered in burn bags at FBI headquarters—including materials from the discredited 2016 Trump-Russia probe—will be made public through investigations, congressional disclosure, or trials.
The materials, found in a storage room, include classified records tied to the Crossfire Hurricane investigation and the now-debunked Russia collusion allegations.
Patel, a former congressional investigator, said the documents were intentionally hidden and revealed the FBI’s reliance on unverified intelligence.
He emphasized transparency under President Trump’s administration, confirming collaboration with Congress on releasing records related to the DOJ’s probe into Trump’s alleged interference with the 2020 election’s power transfer.
While some cases remain ongoing, Patel pledged full accountability.
