Dalmia Cement faces ₹266 crore tax demands in India over disputed claims for 2019-20 and 2022-23.

Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd, a subsidiary of India’s fourth-largest cement maker Dalmia Bharat, received two show cause notices totaling ₹266.3 crore from Tamil Nadu’s Sales Tax Office on November 28, 2025, over alleged discrepancies in taxable turnover and input tax credit claims for 2019-20 and 2022-23. The tax and penalty demands for those years total ₹147.64 crore and ₹118.64 crore respectively. The company stated the notices will not affect its financial operations.
