Authorities in Odisha destroyed 12,000 illegal ganja plants in a joint operation on Nov. 30.
In Keonjhar district, Odisha, authorities destroyed nearly 12,000 illegal ganja plants weighing about 4,000 kg across four forest patches in the Tangarpada Khesara area on November 30.
The joint operation, led by the BJP Range Forest Staff, Kanjipani Police, and Excise Department under the Divisional Forest Officer, covered five to six acres and targeted areas including Tangarpada, Sunajhari, and Benidihi.
The seized plants are estimated to be worth between 1 crore and 1.5 crore rupees.
Officials said the crackdown is part of ongoing efforts to combat illegal cultivation and forest encroachment, with continued surveillance planned.
