Australian company Sea Forest goes public, raising $20M to scale seaweed feed that cuts cattle methane by up to 90%.
Sea Forest, an Australian seaweed feed supplement company, successfully debuted on the ASX in November 2025, raising $20 million through an IPO at $2 per share.
Its SeaFeed product, made from red seaweed Asparagopsis, cuts cattle methane emissions by 70% to 90% at 30 cents per animal daily and boosts feed efficiency by 6% in feedlots.
Used by 112,000 feedlot cattle and 6,000 dairy cows, it’s now expanding in Australia and South Africa, with trials in grazing systems and a premium wool program with MJ Bale.
The company, backed by major agribusinesses and investors, aims to break even by year-end and is aligned with global methane reduction standards like Verra’s registry.
