A woman was sentenced for crashing her car after drinking on a train, receiving a community order and driving ban.

A 38-year-old woman, Heather Allmond, was sentenced after crashing her BMW into a parked caravan in Newark on May 2, 2024, following alcohol consumption on a train from London. She drove about 200 meters from Newark Northgate Station before losing control, becoming trapped under the caravan. Initially admitting to careless driving but denying drink driving, she pleaded guilty at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on November 24, 2024, and received a 12-month community order, a 12-month driving ban, 15 days of rehabilitation activity, a £114 fine, and £1,000 in court costs.
