1,500 students from Kashi will learn spoken Tamil in a 15-day program starting Dec. 2, with follow-up immersion in Tamil Nadu.
The fourth Kashi Tamil Sangamam, starting December 2 in Varanasi, will bring together 1,500 students from Kashi to learn spoken Tamil through a 15-day program led by 50 Tamil teachers.
Organized by the Union Education Ministry with support from multiple central ministries and the Uttar Pradesh government, the initiative, themed "Tamil Karkalam," focuses on conversational Tamil using a curriculum developed by the Central Institute of Classical Tamil.
Selected college students will later travel to Tamil Nadu for a 15-day immersive language program.
The event includes cultural exchanges, seminars, and visits to historical sites in Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Ayodhya, with over 1,400 Tamil Nadu delegates participating.
