A rare 5.08-carat Kashmir sapphire ring, part of the Guerlain family’s private collection and crafted by Boucheron in the early 20th century, is set to be auctioned in Dublin on December 2nd.
The sapphire, known for its deep cornflower blue hue and velvety appearance, originates from a 1880 Himalayan landslide and is among the world’s rarest gems, with mining in the region largely ended by 1885.
This marks the fourth high-value Kashmir sapphire sale in Ireland within eight months, following record prices for similar pieces.
