Over 2 million taxpayers in Bangladesh have filed income tax returns online since the National Board of Revenue launched its e-return system on August 4, 2025, with mandatory digital filing for most individuals.
The platform, accessible at www.etaxnbr.gov.bd, allows secure submission without document uploads, instant acknowledgments, and payments via card, internet banking, or mobile wallets.
Exemptions apply for seniors 65 and older, people with disabilities, expatriates, legal representatives of deceased taxpayers, and foreign nationals, though these groups may opt to file online.
Those with registration issues can apply for paper filing by December 15, 2025, pending approval.
Expatriates can register remotely via email.
Support is available through a call center and in-person help desks.
The NBR urges all taxpayers to file by December 31, 2025.
