Kyle Hinkle, 38, faces third-degree murder charges in Bucks County for the 2024 death of his 11-year-old son, linked to prior abuse from 2012.
Kyle Hinkle, 38, of Allentown, Pennsylvania, was charged with third-degree murder in Bucks County in connection with the February 2024 death of his 11-year-old son, Leonardo Ramon Hinkle.
Authorities say Leonardo died from complications linked to severe infant trauma from a 2012 incident in which Hinkle was arrested for shaking his 3-month-old son.
Hinkle had previously pleaded guilty to assault and endangering a child, serving 12 to 24 months in prison.
Prosecutors argue the long-term effects of the original abuse contributed to the boy’s death, despite no contact between father and son after 2012.
The case was prosecuted in Bucks County where the death occurred.
Hinkle was arrested in Allentown and held on a $2 million bond.
A preliminary hearing is set for December 2, 2024.
