Houston man faces charges for allegedly violating Kansas deer hunting rules.
Brian C. Langston, 54, of Houston, Texas, appeared via Zoom on November 20, 2025, before a Kansas magistrate on two charges of unlawfully taking trophy whitetail bucks in Pawnee County in 2021 and 2022, including one allegedly setting a state record for muzzleloader kills.
The Kansas Department of Parks and Wildlife, with help from the U.S.
Fish and Wildlife Services, investigated his use of residential deer permits while a Texas resident, violating Kansas residency rules.
The deer scored 183 5/8 and 213 5/8 gross, triggering mandatory restitution calculations under state law.
If convicted, Langston faces up to six months in jail and a $5,000 fine per count.
An arraignment is set for December 17, 2025.
