Four tourists, including two children, were rescued from a sky-dining restaurant in Anachal, Kerala, after a crane malfunction left them stranded about 150 feet above ground on Friday, November 28, 2025.
The group, believed to be from Kozhikode, had been trapped since around 1:30 p.m. Fire and rescue teams from Munnar and Adimali climbed ropes to reach the platform, evacuating all five—four tourists and one staff member—by 4:30 p.m. Officials attributed the incident to a hydraulic failure in the crane, with no formal emergency call made by management; local residents alerted authorities.
The staff member said there was no panic due to prior training.
The sky-dining experience, part of a hill district adventure tourism initiative, is now under review for safety protocols.
