Colorado launches unified housing funding platform to speed affordable housing development.
Colorado has launched Housing Hub Colorado, a centralized online platform to simplify access to affordable housing funding, reducing application complexity and project delays. The initiative, led by Gov. Jared Polis and state housing leaders, offers unified application instructions, standardized forms, and streamlined pre-application processes. It is the first phase of a two-part plan, with a second phase expected next year to introduce a single application for tax credit funding across agencies. The effort, driven by the Colorado Housing Consortium of over 100 public and private partners, responds to developer feedback that a statewide application would significantly improve efficiency. Rising housing costs—home prices up 223% and rents 164% since 2000—have intensified the need for faster development. The program has drawn support from key Democratic leaders, including U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet and Attorney General Phil Weiser, who back similar reforms to address Colorado’s affordability crisis.
