Tamworth Council is reviewing its assets to sell or repurpose non-strategic properties to save money and fund key projects.
Tamworth Regional Council is conducting its first full review of all land and building assets since 2004 to identify non-strategic properties for sale or repurposing.
The assessment, part of the 2025-26 budget process, aims to generate funds and reduce maintenance costs, with results expected by March or April 2026.
Proceeds could help pay down debt for projects like the airport, Global Gateway Park, and a future swimming pool.
The review will not include Ray Walsh House, which is being evaluated separately.
The council also approved $35,000 annually for three years to support the NSW Senior Country Championships, projected to deliver over $840,000 in economic benefit, and adopted its 2024-25 Annual Report.
El Consejo de Tamworth está revisando sus activos para vender o reutilizar propiedades no estratégicas para ahorrar dinero y financiar proyectos clave.
