Irish author Sally Rooney faces potential withdrawal of her books from UK shelves and blocked publication of future works due to legal uncertainty over the UK’s ban on the pro-Palestinian group Palestine Action.
The High Court heard that publishers and producers fear paying her royalties could violate anti-terror laws, as she has pledged to donate earnings to the banned group.
Rooney warned this could force her publisher to stop distributing her books in England and Wales and prevent new works from being published unless she works for free.
The ban, which carries up to 14 years in prison for support, has led to 143 arrests during protests.
