Ireland to give one-time Christmas bonus to over 1M long-term welfare recipients in Dec. 2025.

Ireland will issue a one-time Christmas Bonus in December 2025, automatically paying over one million long-term social welfare recipients a double-week benefit equivalent to 100% of their weekly payment, with a minimum of €20. Eligibility requires at least 12 months of continuous qualifying payments, including Jobseeker’s Allowance, State Pension, Carer’s Allowance, and others. Those on multiple qualifying benefits receive the bonus for each. The bonus is calculated based on weekly rates, even for monthly payments like Domiciliary Care Allowance. Payments go directly to recipients or dependents if the benefit is transferred. Individuals on short-term or non-qualifying benefits, such as Fuel Allowance, are excluded.
