Dudley Council gets £6.27M to retrofit 600 homes, cutting energy bills and improving conditions.
Dudley Council has secured up to £6.27 million from the West Midlands Combined Authority to retrofit about 600 of the borough’s oldest, coldest homes over four years.
The funding, part of the WMCA’s Building Retrofit Pilot programme, will improve energy efficiency, reduce bills, and tackle damp and mould in both private and council-owned homes.
£690,000 will cover initial assessments and administration, with £5.8 million available from January 2026.
Private landlords must contribute 30% of retrofit costs, while the council will match 50% of funding for its own properties.
Residents can check eligibility by contacting the Dudley Energy Advice Line.
