B.C. health workers vote 92.3% for strike over pay, scheduling, and benefits after failed talks.
British Columbia community health workers, represented by the BCGEU, have voted 92.3% in favor of strike action after nearly 20 days of stalled contract negotiations with the Health Employers Association of BC.
The vote, which closed November 27, 2025, marks the first such action in three decades and highlights unresolved issues including pay equity, overtime rules, scheduling protections, and benefits funding.
Nearly 26,000 workers in roles supporting seniors, shelters, mental health programs, and detox services are affected.
