A 24-year-old lawyer from Nuh, Haryana, Mohammad Rizwan Khan, was arrested on suspicion of spying for Pakistan’s ISI, marking the third such case in the Mewat region this year.
Authorities allege he communicated with Pakistani operatives via WhatsApp, traveled to Pakistan multiple times, and received funds through hawala networks linked to espionage and terrorism.
His bank accounts are being frozen, and raids are ongoing.
A colleague was also detained.
The National Investigation Agency provided the initial tip, and a case has been filed under anti-terrorism laws.
His family denies the charges, saying he only communicated with relatives.
