A West Virginia jail inmate died after staff ignored his severe symptoms; his mother sues for negligence.
The mother of Cameron P. Bradley, a 31-year-old man who died in West Virginia’s Western Regional Jail in January 2024, has filed a lawsuit alleging jail and medical staff ignored and mocked his repeated pleas for help despite severe symptoms like chest pain, shortness of breath, and abnormal breathing.
He reported symptoms starting January 5, was not examined by a physician until January 22, and was never sent to a hospital despite clear signs of respiratory distress.
The lawsuit accuses Wexford Health Sources and the West Virginia Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation of gross negligence and deliberate indifference, claiming his death could have been prevented with timely medical care.
