Trial delayed to Dec. 1 after key witness Barry Moore fails to appear again in Dublin assault case.
The trial of four men accused in a February 12, 2025, alleged assault and false imprisonment in Dublin has been delayed to December 1 after the key witness, Barry Moore, failed to appear in court for the second time.
Prosecutors say the case depends heavily on his testimony, and despite ongoing efforts to locate him, his absence has halted proceedings.
The defendants—Jason Hennessy Jr, Brandon Hennessy, Kenneth Fitzsimons, and Dean Fitzsimons—face charges including false imprisonment, causing serious harm, and criminal organization involvement, with additional allegations of producing weapons like a branding stamp and steel bar.
Defense lawyers expressed concern over delays and requested bail, while Judge Ms Justice Karen O’Connor emphasized the case is still timely, having been filed less than a year after the alleged incident.
The trial is set to resume on December 1, contingent on the victim’s appearance.
El juicio se retrasa hasta el 1 de diciembre después de que el testigo clave Barry Moore no aparezca de nuevo en el caso de asalto en Dublín.
