A South Carolina man was arrested for threatening to set his 11-year-old son on fire over a food request.
Thomas Baker, 44, of Orangeburg County, South Carolina, was arrested and charged with unlawful conduct toward a child after allegedly threatening his 11-year-old son with extreme violence, including setting him on fire with gasoline, when the boy asked for food.
Authorities responded to a home on Beason Road following a report that Baker wanted the child removed.
Body-worn camera footage captured the incident, showing Baker using profanity and making death threats.
The boy, described as fearful for his life, was placed in the care of his uncle.
Baker was held on a $25,000 bond and remains in custody.
The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate.
