Nile crocodile Kajsa, rescued from Sweden, thrives at a UK zoo after escaping euthanasia.
A Nile crocodile named Kajsa, rescued from a Malmö greenhouse in 2014, is thriving at Crocodiles of the World in Oxfordshire after being brought from Sweden to avoid euthanasia.
Arriving with a heat lamp burn and undergoing quarantine, she has become the dominant member of a group of 26 crocodiles.
The zoo also cares for Lebby, a crocodile rescued from Beirut who recovered from illness.
Both are now healthy and active, drawing visitor interest during feeding displays.
A Swedish journalist recently visited to document Kajsa’s well-being, highlighting public interest in her story.
