Liberia and Sierra Leone advanced border agreements in a Nov. 25 meeting, backed by AU and Germany, aiming for official signing.
A three-day technical meeting in Bo, Sierra Leone, began November 25, 2025, with Liberia and Sierra Leone's Joint Technical Committee validating draft agreements on their land and maritime boundaries and cross-border cooperation.
Supported by the African Union Border Program and Germany’s GIZ, experts reviewed legal texts using international standards.
Liberia stressed community involvement for implementation, while Sierra Leone highlighted economic and cultural potential.
The finalized documents will be submitted for official government signing, building on earlier June 2025 cooperation within the Mano River Union framework.
