A Georgia judge dropped the election interference case against Trump and 18 others after prosecutors deemed it unviable.
A Georgia judge has dismissed the election interference case against former President Donald Trump and 18 others after special prosecutor Pete Skandalakis, appointed following the disqualification of Fulton County DA Fani Willis over a conflict of interest, decided not to pursue the charges.
The case, which alleged efforts to overturn Joe Biden’s 2020 win in Georgia, including Trump’s phone call pressuring the state’s secretary of state, was deemed unviable due to legal complexities, the case’s origins in Washington, D.C., and the federal government’s prior assessment that prosecution was impractical.
The dismissal ends one of four criminal cases against Trump, though 14 co-defendants, including Rudy Giuliani and Mark Meadows, still face charges.
The decision follows Trump’s November 10, 2025, pardon of the alternate electors involved.
