Australian teen Tallan Egan, 18, returns from New Zealand to debut for Newcastle Knights’ under-21s.
Lithgow-born teenager Tallan Egan, 18, has returned to Australia to join the Newcastle Knights after two years with the New Zealand Warriors’ lower grades, where he scored four tries.
He is set to debut in the Knights’ under-21s team, likely at fullback or in the halves—positions he favors.
Egan, who played junior football with the Lithgow Storm and Workies Wolves, moved to New Zealand to join his brother Wayde, a Warriors hooker.
He aims to follow the path of Western NSW talent Fletcher Hunt, who made an NRL impact after starting in the under-21s.
Egan will train alongside stars like Kalyn Ponga and incoming player Dylan Brown, and may compete with fellow Lithgow junior Eli Morris, who played for the Melbourne Storm in 2025.
