A Zimbabwean auctioneer was cleared of fraud after the complainant withdrew the case, citing unresolved contract issues.
Jeffery Mubaiwa, a 47-year-old auctioneer and JEFFM Auctions director, has been cleared of fraud charges after NetOne Cellular withdrew its complaint.
The Harare Magistrates' Court dismissed the case following a sworn affidavit on October 14, 2025, stating the dispute over $133,000 from a July 13 auction stemmed from unresolved contractual issues, not criminal conduct.
NetOne confirmed the matter was resolved amicably and would not pursue legal action.
With the complainant’s withdrawal, the State’s case collapsed, leading to Mubaiwa’s acquittal and the restoration of his professional reputation.
