Vail Resorts CEO Rob Katz has pledged $3 million in grants through the Katz Amsterdam Foundation to strengthen mental health and substance-use services across 11 mountain communities, including seven in Colorado.
The funding supports bilingual and bicultural care, treatment scholarships, data collection, and staffing for mental health and domestic violence services.
Recipients include organizations in Aspen, Steamboat, Crested Butte, and surrounding areas, with grants ranging from $75,000 to $560,000.
The initiative, part of a broader effort to address rural mental health challenges, complements Vail Resorts’ EpicPromise program and builds on the foundation’s nearly $30 million in mountain community investments, about $22 million of which has focused on mental and behavioral health.
