A teen on an illegal electric dirt bike crashed into a man’s bicycle at a Stockton skate park, damaging the bike and prompting calls for safety barriers.
A 64-year-old man visiting from Bondi Junction narrowly avoided injury when a teenager riding an illegal high-speed electric dirt bike launched off a skate park ramp in Stockton, crashing into his bicycle.
The teen, on a Talaria xXx Pro TL2500 capable of 75km/h, was using a vehicle banned on public land.
The man’s bike sustained damage, and the teen initially fled but was stopped.
The boy’s mother arrived and reprimanded him, noting the bike was previously banned.
Authorities confirm skate parks are for non-motorized use only, and while councils cannot prosecute e-bike owners, the public is urged to report violations.
NSW Police have no record of the incident, but the man is calling for safety barriers to prevent future accidents.
