RCMP cleared a protest blockade on Vancouver Island’s Walbran Forest Service Road on November 25, 2025, arresting four people after enforcing a court injunction against interference with logging operations in the Carmanah Valley.
The blockade, active since late August, involved activists opposing logging in a culturally and ecologically significant area.
Officers gave protesters advance notice, with most leaving peacefully; three were arrested for violating the injunction and one for criminal mischief.
The injunction was granted to Tsawak-qin Forestry, a joint venture between Western Forest Products and the Huu-ay-aht First Nations.
The Pacheedaht First Nation opposed the blockade, calling it unlawful and disruptive.
The four arrested were released with conditions and are to appear in court in January.
