Precious Hospital launches Malaysia’s first regional cyclotron cancer center in Johor Bahru on Dec. 5, 2025, boosting local cancer care and medical tourism.
A Singapore-based healthcare provider, Precious Hospital Sdn.
Bhd., will launch the Tunku Laksamana Johor Cancer Centre in Johor Bahru on December 5, 2025, as part of a RM500 million investment.
The first phase includes a PET-CT scanner, radiotherapy center, and Malaysia’s first cyclotron outside the Klang Valley, enabling local production of medical radioisotopes for cancer care.
Located in the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone, the facility aims to improve early diagnosis, reduce reliance on imported isotopes, and support regional healthcare collaboration.
The project is expected to create around 1,000 jobs and will be followed by a 200-bed hospital.
Named after Tunku Abdul Jalil, who died from liver cancer at 25, the center reflects a patient-centered approach.
The development supports Malaysia’s medical tourism sector and strengthens cross-border healthcare integration, especially with the upcoming RTS Link.
