Papa Johns has completed a refranchising deal, transferring 85 restaurants in the Washington, D.C. and Baltimore areas to Chris Patel’s Pie Investments.
The move, part of Papa Johns’ strategy to strengthen its franchise network, sees Patel, a major Northeast operator, now overseeing over 150 locations and planning 52 new openings by 2030 in the region.
The transition follows the retirement of long-time franchisee William Freitas and reflects the company’s focus on empowering franchisees and expanding its footprint.
