A man was arrested for allegedly ramming LGBTQIA+ runners in Florida, facing hate crime review.
A 43-year-old man, Ihab Mustafa El Mahmoud, was arrested in West Palm Beach after allegedly driving a Ford Bronco at members of the LGBTQIA+ Night Runners group in Howard Park on November 25, 2025.
Witnesses said he made multiple attempts to strike runners, fled recklessly across sidewalks and grass, and was later found removing the vehicle’s license plate in a nearby parking garage.
Police say the incident may have been triggered by a perceived comment from a male runner.
El Mahmoud faces two counts of aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony and one count of reckless driving.
Prosecutors are reviewing the case for potential hate crime charges under Florida law.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no injuries have been publicly confirmed.
