Indian firm ICIL sells $806M in Airtel shares at a discount, reducing stake to 0.92%.
Indian Continent Investment Ltd, a promoter entity linked to Sunil Mittal, plans to sell 34.3 million Bharti Airtel shares in a bulk deal worth about $806 million, reducing its stake from 1.48% to 0.92%.
The shares are being offered at ₹2,096.70 each, a 3% discount to the previous day’s closing price, with settlement expected on November 27.
Goldman Sachs (India) is the sole placement agent, and the transaction is secondary, meaning no new shares are issued.
After the sale, ICIL’s remaining shares will be locked for 90 days.
The move follows recent divestments by other major shareholders, including Singtel, and comes amid strong financial performance, including a 6% QoQ EBITDA rise and robust cash flow.
Analysts maintain a “Buy” rating, citing growth from tariff hikes, broadband expansion, and African operations.
