Historic HBC artifacts, including blankets and artworks, are auctioned online through Heffel until Dec. 4, with prices ranging from hundreds to millions.
A series of items from the Hudson’s Bay Company Collection are available through Heffel Fine Art Auction House’s online auction, running until December 4, offering the public access to Canadian historical artifacts at more affordable price points.
While high-value pieces like E.J.
Hughes’ “Entrance to Howe Sound” sold for over $4.8 million, other items—including vintage four-point blankets from the 1940s, portraits, and works by Canadian artists such as David Geoffrey Armstrong and Frank Leonard Brooks—are priced in the hundreds or low thousands.
A portrait of King Charles II is estimated at up to $12,000, while a painting of former HBC CEO Yves Fortier is currently bidding at $150.
Bidders must register free on Heffel.com, with a 25% buyer’s premium on purchases up to $25,000 and 20% above that, plus taxes.
An in-person preview is available by appointment in Toronto from December 1 to 3.
The auction follows a previous live sale that generated over $31 million in revenue.
